Trinke E. Hansen

Trinke E. Hansen, 96, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at The Meadows at Osborn Park, Sandusky, OH. Trinke was born on January 02, 1918 in Gottrupfeld, Germany, the daughter of Edlef and Anna Maria Jurgensen Christensen. On August 06 1936 in Germany, she married Peter F. Hansen and he preceded her in death on May 26, 1985. Trinke was a homemaker and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. In her youth she sang at funerals. She was a very hard worker. Trinke loved gardening especially growing her own strawberries. She loved to knit afghans and made sure that every family member had one. She used the pattern Grandmas Garden and it took a year to make them. Trinke will be greatly missed by her loving family friends. Survivors include: Children: Marianne Knepper, Gertrude Trudy Houle, Peter Georgie Hansen, Helga Fred Pluckhorn, Margaret Robert Danklefsen and Fred Karen Hansen; 21 Grandchildren; 40 Great-Grandchildren and 13 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Trinke was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter son-in-law: Gretel Hans Lilie. Visitation will be 5-8pm, Monday, February 03, 2014, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, OH. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am, Tuesday, February 04, 2014, in the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Trinke may be given to Stein Hospice or Ida Rupp Public Library.
