Tomasa “Maters” Wetmore, 73, of Walbridge, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021. She was born in Toledo to Tomas C. and Charlotte (Esquibel) Lopez on September 3, 1947. She was one of 12 children and took on a motherly role to all she knew. Maters married her loving husband, William “Bubba” Wetmore and spent many wonderful years together. She and Bubba spent a lot of time at the Sunny’s Campground in Wauseon where she assisted to coordinate many holiday functions and events. She loved to read and listen to her audio books. Tomasa worked for years as a preschool teacher; a job in which she thrived since she had such a caring nature. She was also an excellent cook and baker. She is survived by her husband, Bill “Bubba” Wetmore; children, Will Wetmore, Jimmy (Janet) Wetmore, Joe (Joy) Wetmore; many grandchildren; many many great-grandchildren; brothers, Tommy, Henry, Jimmy, Simon; sisters, Lola, Teresa, Rita, Gloria; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Raymond, Chucky, and Mary. Friends will be received on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, OH (419-691-6768). A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 26, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
