Tom F. Rasar, 80 of Oregon, OH passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was born on October 24, 1940 in Loudon County, Tennessee to Joe and Essie Rasar. He was married to Gayle M. Henold for over 57 years. Tom was an apprentice carpenter with Local 1138 when he was drafted in 1963 where he served 2 years in the Army Signal Corps. He was stationed in Germany where his wife joined him. After his military service he was employed with the DeVilbiss Company for over 24 years and then went on to work for Oregon City Schools. He was a member of the Rossford Eagles. He loved to hunt, fish and garden as well as sing Karaoke. Tom is survived by his wife, Gayle M. Rasar; son, Jeffrey S. Rasar; granddaughter, Emma Rasar; sister, Rada Vargyas; sisters-in-law, Carol Rasar, Dolores Rasar, Janet Slomowicz, Nancy Hubbell and Robin Henold; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Ursa Miller, Ernest Rasar and Joe Rasar Friends and family will be received on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH 43623 (419-841-2422). The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity and Ducks Unlimited.
