Thomas Tom Lichtenberg, 72, of Hudson, Florida passed on May 26, 2013 surrounded by loving family. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 13, 1940 to Clem and Dorothy Lichtenberg. He attended Lockland High School and received a full athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Louisville, where he met his wife, Sue Ann. His career in coaching football began in 1962, starting the first football program at Mason High School in Mason, OH. His career success led him to countless Universities as the offensive coordinator/quarterback coach at Notre Dame, Ohio State, Iowa State, Bowling Green, Drake, and Northern Iowa. He was the head football coach at Morehead State, Maine, and Ohio. Tom retired in 2004 and enjoyed countless hours of golf, traveling, and spending time with family. His loving family and friendships helped him courageously fight Prostate Cancer for over nine years. He may have lost the war, but he won the battle. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Ann; children, Tami Charlie Bowles, Michelle Mike Carmola, Thomas, Jr., Susan Scott Clines, and Anthony Bubba Paige; 12 grandchildren, Ashley, Kaley, Nick, Jake, Tony, Peyton, Maddie, Hannah, Emma, Abigail, Braydon and Blake; siblings, Tim Cheryl, Kathy Don Dwire, and Terry Kim; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ted Lichtenberg. Mass will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at St. Joseph Sylvania at 10:00 AM, with visitation prior to service at 9:00 AM. Reception and life celebration to follow.
