Todd E Thomas, a man of action, has moved on to his eternal ministry. Todd (age 70), affectionately known as “Bubba” to brother Brad, was born August 21, 1950, in Detroit Mi, firstborn to Frank and Treva Thomas. He died June 16, 2021, at the Toledo Hospital due to complications related to COVID-19. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Denise “Susan” (nee Tifft); brother Brad Thomas (Katie Hoag); sister Tracy (Paul) Schmidlin; and many cousins, in laws, nieces, nephews, friends, and congregations. He was preceded in death by parents Frank and Treva (nee Evans) Thomas. Todd was an athlete in high school, lettering in wrestling and football. he always loved music, in high school he was drummer with bands Harris Tweed and My Generation. He graduated Sylvania High School in 1968 and was in appliance sales, a driving instructor, and management until he felt called into the Christian ministry. Becoming a member at The Church in Toledo Westside Community in 1981, he discovered his calling to ministry and was ordained January 25, 1998. Todd has been active in local, national, and worldwide ministry. He served Westside Community Church as an elder, pastor and worship leader. He oversaw the prophetic voice of WCC as a prophet responsible for instruction and activation of the prophetic teams. As a team leader for Apostolic Team Ministries International he has served in Guatemala, Peru, Brazil, El Salvador, The Netherlands, Albania, Kenya, England, Germany, Belgium, Canada, and even the Ukraine. Todd’s great desire is to see the Body of Christ encouraged and equipped for action. He became a “spiritual father” to many! Todd, as a servant of Christ, was a devoted husband, a much-loved brother, and a loyal friend. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying motorcycling, fishing, hunting, and traveling. He showed great love for people, enjoyed pizza, peanut brittle, and action movies with the “fam”. A gifted conversationalist, he loved singing, swapping stories, and getting to know everyone who entered his orbit. He is greatly missed by family, friends, colleagues, and congregations! Friends may visit the family from 2-9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave (west of Corey Rd). There will be visitation Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Westside Community Church 6045 W. Bancroft St. with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
