Todd C. Apthorpe

Todd Clyde Apthorpe passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on November 3, 2022, just one month after his 58th birthday. He left his loving family and friends’ way too soon.

Born to his parents, Clyde and Audrey (Schwierking) Apthorpe on October 3, 1964, in Toledo Ohio. He graduated from high school in 1983 and went to work at various jobs until he found his calling at Jeep where he retired from in 2002.

Todd met the love of his life, Shawn, and they were married in 1984. They had two children together and raised them to be caring and responsible. Family was important to Todd, even if he didn’t say it in so many words. He showed it by helping where needed. You could usually find him fishing, working on a car, doing home improvements, spending time with his grandbabies or enjoying a beer.

Candy, burgers, and Budweiser were a few of his favorites. You could find him in his recliner watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and having a snack or two. But you’d never find him without his smokes. He also loved his Pitbull Butter, who he is happily reunited with now.

He has left a hole in the hearts of his family and will be remembered every single day by his wife Shawn Apthorpe; children Todd (Shelby) Apthorpe, Allysia (Mark Perry) Apthorpe; siblings Rick Apthorpe, Susan (Roy) Bomyea, Scott (Linda) Apthorpe; grandchildren, Logan Carter, Caden Carter, Michael Apthorpe, Kayleanna Apthorpe; godchildren Nathan Bomyea and Crystal Pecina.

We would like all of Todd’s family and friends to join us for visitation and services that will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 3pm to 6pm at the Walker Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel (3500 Navarre Ave.) concluding with a Budweiser toast. Intermit will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to help the family with expenses.
