Tim was called home to heaven to be with his Savior on April 21, 2026. He was born on May 29, 1963. Tim graduated from Rogers High School and went to an airplane mechanic school for a short time in Oklahoma. He loved tinkering with things and fixing things and was fondly known as Tim the Tool Man. He held various jobs throughout his life but was most proud of being an iron worker retiring from Local 55. Tim also loved gardening and growing vegetables and then cooking and baking using what he had grown fresh from his garden. He especially liked making zucchini bread and grew herbs like sage and rosemary for his sauces and making his dad's "secret" Thanksgiving dressing recipe. He was also a fan of the Cleveland Browns.
The pride and joy of Tim's life were his three sons, Ryan, Nick, and Kyle and grandchildren. He loved making people laugh and would often have something humorous to share even in difficult moments. One of Tim's most treasured moments was doing mission work in Mexico. It was an experience that deeply touched him. An amazing skill Tim had was having a memory like a steel trap. He remembered names of people and places from childhood in an uncanny way. He loved to vividly recall and tell stories with family and friends throughout his life.
Tim is survived by his beloved sons Ryan and Kyle Swartz and his siblings Carol (Ken) Aerni, Donna (Joe, deceased) Cheney, Barb Swartz, Ann (Jeff) Biblewski and Jim Swartz. Tim is also survived by his grandchildren Carter, Braelen and Ryanna. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his son Nicholas Swartz and older brother Tom Swartz.
A memorial service will be held for Tim on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43623, followed by visitation from 2-3 pm.
