Timothy L. Lanier

November 6, 1963 — March 31, 2023

Timothy L. Lanier, age 59, of Holland, Ohio, died unexpectedly on March 31, 2023. He was born November 6, 1963, in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Garland and Betty (Hardinger) Lanier.

Tim graduated from Gallipolis High School and Ohio University in Athens, Ohio before moving to Toledo for Law School. He practiced family law for several years before entering a long and successful career in medical sales. Tim concluded his sales career with Merck and Company then purchased a Dunkin’ Donuts franchise which he operated for 4 years before retiring in 2016.

Highly intelligent and a member of Mensa, Tim always kept his mind active. He enjoyed reading and watching movies, then discussing them. His outgoing, fun-loving personality made him an interesting conversationalist and the life of every party. Tim was an excellent cook, known for his amazing breakfast meals, and an avid bourbon collector. He also enjoyed old shows like MASH and Adam-12 and, for some reason that even he could not figure out, watching and cheering for the Cleveland Browns. Tim’s greatest attribute was his caring nature and dedication to being a devoted husband and father. He was his family’s mentor, teacher, and friend and his strong presence will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy Donovan; children, Brendan, Charles, and Will Lanier; siblings, Brian (Sally) and Norm (Laura) Lanier and Denise (David) Cole; mother-in-law, Maureen Donovan; and brother-in-law, Joe (Kristi) Donovan.

A gathering to share Tim’s story and celebrate his life will be held from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Stone Oak Country Club, 100 Stone Oak Blvd., Holland, Ohio 43528.

Contributions in Tim’s name are suggested to Finnegan Family Autism Center, 2105 Lawrence Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43606 .
