Timothy Crosby

November 9, 1957 — March 17, 2023

Timothy Lee Crosby, 65, of Monclova OH, previously of Temperance MI, passed away Friday March 17, 2023, at his home in Monclova. Tim was born November 9, 1957 in Toledo OH to Arthur and Mona (Dybala) Crosby.

“Blessings of a Good, No, a Great Life”

Honoring and celebrating his life are his wife and best friend of 46 amazing years, Elizabeth (Liz Wilmoth) Crosby, siblings Matthew, Brett (Kim), Nancy and Patricia (Todd Gruesbeck), brothers-in-law Gary (Louann) Wilmoth and Roger Williams, numerous nieces and nephews and special fur friend, Mika.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Ray Green and sister-in-law Nancy (Wilmoth) Green.

Tim’s childhood was quite happy running around the Washington Local, Westwood neighborhood until the streetlights came on. Always active, laughing and creating lots of laundry playing baseball and football. As a catcher, baseball was a passion throughout his life, from being scouted by MLB in high school to playing in the Roy Hobbs league for several years, until injuries prevented him from playing any longer.

Looking back about meeting Liz in high school, Tim wrote: “Beginnings: I saw you that first time and the world changed, my heart filled with joy and laughter. You became my world, and our journey began…” His love for Liz was the greatest love, joy and passion at every point in his life.

Tim became a donut connoisseur, with his first job working at Hinkle’s Donuts while attending high school. This sweet love, sprinkled and sugared his whole life and fostered a passion for food, beer and the act of sharing laughs and bites with family and friends.

Tim was proud of his military service in the Army from 1975-79. Stationed in Bamberg Germany and Ft. Sill OK. Tim honored that love of Germany with yearly attendance at the German American Fest and regular visits to the Black Forest Café.

Tim’s successful 40-year career in the financial industry was highlighted by his enjoyment and pride in mentoring and treating people fairly. Tim’s career culminated with his leadership as a Sr. Vice President with Directions Credit Union, retiring in April 2021.

A 50th birthday trip to the Grand Canyon with Liz ignited their passion for hiking, which resulted in annual backcountry hiking trips to the canyon for 13 years straight. With each trip, Tim & Liz gained confidence and experience, eventually hiking remote trails, camping up to 6 days carrying their supplies and water. Tim’s favorite site to camp was at Horn Creek where solace and peace could be found.

Tim’s perspective on life and people was all expansive and aware. He was perceptive, selfless, spiritual and compassionate and made everyone feel seen and heard. These same traits were shown, through his love and treatment of animals.

“When morning comes, it’s time to fight, out of the darkness – into the light.”

Journeying toward the horizon, it gave no quarter. Tim arrived at the trail head gate, the other side of no tomorrow.

Honoring Tim’s wishes, private memorial services will take place at a later date.
