Timothy A. Buchanan

Timothy A. “Mr. Excitement 99x” Buchanan, 38, of Marblehead, OH passed away Friday, June 26, 2020. He was born on September 12, 1981 in Port Clinton, OH to A.C. and Virginia Katherine (Hall) Buchanan, Jr. Tim worked as a truck driver previously. Tim had a great love of all forms of motor sports, especially racing, which he started at age 14. Over his career of racing he won over 50 features in Sprint Car and Stock Cars, including the Buckeye Super Sprint Champion in 2004. Tim is scheduled to be inducted into the Sandusky Speedway Hall of Fame in late July this year. He was currently working on a Sprint Car for a return to racing on the dirt track. Tim was a member of many racing groups including, WSOA, SAS, TBARA, Must See Racing, Auto Value Super Sprints, HOSS, and MSA. Tim really appreciated his racing crew members: Donna & Phil, Pam, Clay, Mark, Grandpa A.C., Dustin, Clancy, and Bobby. Tim also enjoyed Lake Erie and fishing, rescuing animals, drawing, cooking and he loved to eat. He was big Ohio State Buckeye fan, Kevin Harvick Racing fan, and he especially loved his family. Surviving Tim are his parents, A.C.”Jr.” and Kathy Buchanan, siblings, Todd (Susan) Buchanan and Brian (Jennie) Buchanan, nieces & nephews, Andrew (Hanna) Turinsky Brooke Buchanan, Austin Buchanan, and Beau Buchanan, great nieces & nephews, Logan Turinsky and Addie Turinsky, step-grandfather, Richard Edwards, many aunts, uncles, & cousins, and his dog, Jax. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sylvia Edwards, paternal grandparents, A.C. & Wilma Buchanan, Sr., aunt, Barbara Jo Cowan, uncle, Michael Buchanan, cousins, Christopher Cowan & Joshua Priddy, and his beloved dog, Zeus. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held for Tim on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 2-8 p.m. at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton. Masks are encouraged by the family but not mandatory for the gathering. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Tim can be given to “Finish the Race Car” Fund, which is a tribute to Tim to finish the car he was working on.
