Timothy D. Allan

October 1, 1944 — October 17, 2022

Timothy Allan, aged 78, of East Toledo passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2022, at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. Tim was born to Russell and Lucille (Connolly) Allan on October 1,1944. He was a 1962 graduate of Macomber High School, earned an associate degree from Lourdes College, and a bachelor’s degree from BGSU.

Tim is survived by his wife of forty-six years Joanne Wiegand Allan, his daughter Sarah Allan, son-in-law Mathew Crane, and granddaughter Simone Allan-Crane, who thought she had the noisiest grandpa that could make her laugh and squeal in delight. Also surviving are siblings Mary (Don) Poppe, Barb (Tom) Haydock, Ken (Denise) Allan, Margaret Gregor, Russ (Vicky) Allan, Joe (Janet) Allan, and sisters-in-law Vicki Berg and Kay Allan.

Tim was in-law to Jim & Barb Wiegand, Tim & Julie Wiegand, Dave & Joni Wiegand, and Jon Wiegand, who survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Mike, Pat and Dan Allan, and sister-in-law Kathy Wiegand.

Despite having a form of muscular dystrophy, Tim was an avid bicyclist that rode to and from the colleges, all around town, and in later years, could be seen with a “joust” attached to his bike (he strapped his crutch to his bike and off he went!).

Tim loved the Lord. He liked praying The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy daily with his wife. He loved praying the Rosary and leading others in that prayer and was very committed to Eucharistic Adoration. Tim was committed to pro-life issues. He spent years peacefully praying outside abortion clinics.

Tim was also a dedicated local high school sports fan. He could be found many Friday nights during football season at Waite High School games with his long-time friend, Bob Horton. Tim was a huge sci-fi and horror film fan (much to his wife’s chagrin) as well as a sincere and talented letter writer. He could make friends with anyone and talk your ear off if you let him.
