Thomas R Zollars

Thomas Raymond Zollars, 84, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Tom was born August 3, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Alvin C. and Constance (Munger) Zollars. Tom graduated from Libby High School and attended The University of Toledo. He proudly served our country in the Korean War as an Air Man Second Class in the United States Air Force. He married Margaret Jane Keivel on December 30, 1955 in Toledo, Ohio and she survives. He worked as a process engineer for Owens-Illinois for 27 ½ years, retiring in 1989. He also worked for Glass Tech for five years as a design engineer. Tom loved his garden, especially his rose bushes. He enjoyed hunting, reading, bird watching, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Along with his wife, Margaret, Tom is survived by his children, Jeff (Julie) Zollars, David (Judy) Zollars and Amy (David) Lamberger;, grandchildren, Justin Zollars, Matthew Zollars, Tyler (Lisa) Zollars, Lindsay (Chris) Wagner, Zachary Zollars, Kyle Zollars, Bailey Zollars, and Jack Lamberger; great-grandchildren, Makenna Rose Wagner and Alivia Grace Zollars; sister, Sherry Seiler; sister-in-law, Pat Zollars and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alvin and Richard and sister, Barbara Arner. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Fort Meigs Cemetery with Mike Floyd, officiating. Arrangements were entrusted with Witzler-Shank Funeral Home; Perrysburg (419-874-3133) In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at St. Clare Commons, Toledo Hospital, and Hospice of Northwest Ohio; with a special thanks to Dr. Deborah Thaler and Dr. Michael Gordon, Melinda, Abe, and Vicky.
