Thomas F. Songbird Whitaker, 80, of Curtice, OH died Friday, April 19, 2013 in his residence. He was born in Floyd, KY on January 5, 1933 to William and Vergie Spencer Whitaker. Thomas retired from the CSX Railroad in 1995 after over 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea from 1953-1955. Thomas married Teresa Costantini in Oregon, Ohio on September 21, 1973 and she survives. Thomas was a private pilot and an amateur radio Extra Class operator. He had a great love for music and played the guitar and the Dobro and was a member of the Gypsum Music Hall. Vacationing to the Smoky Mountains was another of his favorite activities. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Teresa, sons, Theodore Joyce, Tim Sally, Todd Missy, and Mark, daughter, Terri Ann Costantini, sister, Louise Jim Gillespie, and brothers, Ken Kay, and Roger Barb, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Joan Hagemeister, sons, Thomas and Terry, sisters, Myrtle Ratcliffe and Patricia May, and brother, Eddie Music. A funeral service for Thomas is scheduled for 10 AM, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, OH. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2-6 PM on Monday, April 22, 2013. Interment will be at a later date in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, OH. Memorials may be directed to the family.
