Thomas A. Szypka, 62, of Woodville, OH, died unexpectedly Friday, October 12, 2018, at Sunrise Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV. Tom was born August 16, 1956, in Oregon, OH, to John J. and Rozella H. (Valko) Szypka. He married Connie J. Gullett on July 24, 1993, in Oregon and she survives. For the last 30 plus years, Tom had worked as a commercial loan officer at numerous banks, the most recent being Citizens National Bank and pior to that, 15 years at the Genoa Banking Co. He was a member of the Toledo Rotary Club and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa. Tom enjoyed fishing and glamping, but especially enjoyed his family-grandchildren and his great grandson. In addition to his wife, Connie, Tom is survived by his children, Judy (Jason) Prange of Sylvania, Tommy (Elizabeth) Sutphin of Wintergarden, FL, Kelley (Jim) Theisen of Genoa and Michael Sutphin of Asbury, NJ; grandchildren, Jared and Jackson Prange, Lea and Olivia Theisen, and Langdon and Saphira Sutphin; and great grandson, Alexander Theisen. He is also survived by his brother, Andrew (Julie) Szypka, nephew, Bradley (Josie) Szypka and niece, Shana (Erick) Scharer, all of Curtice. His parents preceded him in death. Visitation for Tom will be 2-8 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, where the funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 19, 2018. Burial will take place in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be given to the Childrens Miracle Network, 2213 Cherry St., Toledo, OH 43608.
