Thomas Allen Sommer

Thomas Allen Sommer, age 68, of Monroe, MI, died Wednesday morning, December 21, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee. Born February 20, 1943 in Monroe to Louis and the late Elvia Burgess Sommer, he married Katherine Ann Krieger who preceded him in death in 1983. Tom retired from Tecumseh Products after more than 20 years of service. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions and especially the Michigan Wolverines. Tom was also a skilled pool player, enjoyed the outdoors, and will be remembered for his friendly and outgoing personality. Surviving are his father, Louis; sons, Scott Colleen and Mark Spring; grandchildren, Katherine and Olivia; and sister, Betty Randy. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Pleasant View Cemetery, Blissfield, MI. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
