Thomas R. Shugarts

Toledo Blade Thomas R. Shugarts, 81, of Maumee, OH passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in his home. He was born February 26, 1927 in DuBois, PA to Roy Phillip and Claire Thompson Shugarts. Tom was an US Navy veteran serving on the USS Helena. He was employed by the former Seaway Foodtown and then the City of Maumee as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 15 years, retiring in 1986. Thomas was a member of the Maumee Elks, Garfield Lodge # 559 in DuBois, PA, 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite and Maumee United Methodist Church. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Harris Shugarts; daughter, Linda Richard Lark; and granddaughter, Brittany Lark. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Shugarts. Family and friends may visit Friday from 3-8 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
