Thomas Patrick Shea

Thomas P. Shea, 70 of Toledo, Ohio passed away on November 14,2021. He was born in Toledo on March 27, 1951, to Fredrick Shea and Mary Jane Veller. Tom started working for Josephs Supermarket as a bag boy at age 15 on Byrne/Glendale. He became the youngest Joseph Store Manager on Alexis/Tremainsville transferred to Navarre Avenue then moved to Cherry and Delaware. Tom became VP/GM in 1978 and took over Joseph’s Beverage center where he built up the largest liquor store in the state of Ohio. He had started with 4 employees and ended with 25. He worked 7 days a week being very devoted and never took a vacation. Thomas graduated from Bowsher High School in 1969. He took some courses at the University of Toledo. Tom married Denise Fifer (Stoner) in 1970 and divorced in 1975. They had Heather in 1970. He met Tanya Bellner in 1979 and had Dana Smith (Bellner) in 1982. Everyone will remember Tom from Josephs Beverage Center wearing his red jacket. He loved working for the Josephs. He loved football, Jersey Boys, Temptations, Grease, lottery, and his family. Thomas is survived by his daughters, Heather Shea and Dana Smith (Gregg Smith); sister, Susan Rill; brother, Fredrick Shea; partner, Tanya Bellner; Grandchildren, Makayla, Gwendelyn, Clara, Benjamin and Joshua Smith, Dylan, Brandon and Isabella Adams, Casey and Ryder Bellner; stepkids, Tanya Adams, and Patrick and Amy Bellner. A visitation of friends and family will take place on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 3-8 P.M. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. A service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Petri Church or St. Joseph of Maumee.
