Thomas A Roth

Thomas A. Roth, 74, of Perrysburg, OH died, Friday, July 29, 2016, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. He was born in Toledo on, October 20, 1941 to Mahlon and Mae (Rydman) Roth and was married in Findlay, OH on July 1, 1967 to Evelyn S. Sheeley. Thomas was a 1959 graduate of Devilbiss High School and after many years continued his education graduating from the University of Toledo in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems. In between those years he worked at Haughton Elevators for over 20 years. After his graduation he worked as a computer programmer for O-I in Perrysburg and later as a substitute teacher for the Oregon, Washington Local and Rossford school districts retiring in 2008. He had also served in the US Army Reserves from 1963 to 1969. For many years he was actively involved with the Indian Guides and Trailblazers at the Toledo area YMCA’s. He was also a member of the University of Toledo Golden Key International Honour Society. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; sons, Craig S. (Rochelle) Roth of Toledo and Bryan T. (Debi) Roth of Longwood, FL; grandchildren, Ashley, Cara, Jael, and Rossalyn Roth; sister, Susan Krause and brother, Gary Roth both of Toledo. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Mahlon “Lon” Roth. Friends will be received from 4 – 8 P.M. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 with burial at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Lane, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the donor’s choice.
