Thomas Franklin Lane, Jr

Thomas “Tom” F. Lane Jr., 82, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg, from complications due to Parkinson’s disease. He was born on July 24, 1933 in Farnham, Nebraska to Thomas F. Lane Sr., a construction superintendent, and Pauline (Peoples) Lane. Tom married his wife Evelyn Luidhardt on November 7, 1964. Thomas honorably served his country with the United States Coast Guard. Thomas a registered engineer focusing in civil engineering, with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil Engineering from the Missouri School of Mines (1955), and Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Toledo (1968). Tom a registered engineer in the states of Ohio, California, Florida, and Texas, had careers with Libbey Owens Ford, and was a consultant for S.S.O.E, eventually retiring from Owens Corning after 15 years. Tom was also a registered surveyor in the state of Ohio. Tom enjoyed traveling, but he was especially enthused with music. He sang with the Waterville Playshop, Perrysburg Suburban Singers, Bowling Green University Summer Theatre, and with the Toledo Choral Society, where he was a member of Masterworks Chorale of Toledo for over 20 years. Tom was also a Freemason, and served as WM of Wakeman Lodge #522, in Waterville Ohio in 1965. Tom was also a member of Ft. Miami Chapter, the Maumee Council, and Toledo Commandery. Tom is survived by his loving wife and companion of 51 years Evelyn, son Thomas III, daughter Sarah (Joe) Busch, grandchildren Anthony Busch, and Mona Busch, and sister Shannon Hall. Tom is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Ray. A memorial service will be held at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 871 E. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio on Saturday June 4th 2016, at 11am. Burial will be private, and funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133).
