Thomas A. Kwyer, M.D.

Thomas Anthony Kwyer, M.D., age 66, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Tom was born in Lafayette, IN on January 18, 1949 to Ralph and Victoria Kwyer. He was a 1967 graduate of Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn, MI and received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1971. In 1975, Tom earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan and continued to complete his residency with the program. Tom was an otolaryngologist at the Sinus Center of America, which he founded, and had practiced medicine for 36 years. He was a member of the Michigan Otolaryngology Society, AMA, Michigan Alumni and Victors Clubs. Tom was an avid sports fan who enthusiastically cheered on U of M and any Detroit team. He enjoyed cooking and became very skilled over the years as well as enjoyed classical music and playing the bassoon. Tom loved traveling- especially throughout Puerto Vallarta and Californias wine country. Tom will be remembered by his family and friends as hardworking, dedicated, selfless, kind, thoughtful, generous, and terrific father and husband. He had a brilliant mind and a strong faith and devotion to God. Tom is survived by his wife, Roxy; mother, Victoria; children, David and Michael Kwyer and Chad and Lyndsy Brenner; brother, Andrew Kwyer; sister-in-law, Sharon Rice; and his loyal office staff who were like family to him. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph. Visitation will be from 1-8:00 pm on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where services will be on Monday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
