Thomas L. “Tom” Howard, 83, of Walbridge, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 in the comfort of his home. Tom was born on November 17, 1934 to Glenn and Rachel (Fitzpatrick) Howard in Kansas City, KS. He graduated with a BS degree from the University of Kansas in 1959 and earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He married his beloved wife, Sharon L. (Welch) Howard on July 3, 1969 in San Francisco, CA and she survives. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army and worked most of his career as a Physical Therapist, later as a Nursing Home Administrator, and then returning to his greatest passion, Physical Therapy. He sang in The Stateline Chorus Barbershop Quartet in Sylvania and enjoyed “any sport involving a ball”. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of the Kansas Jayhawks Basketball. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon L. Howard; children, Mike Fowler, Jodi (Laird) Monteith and Scott (Angela) Howard; grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, Ryland, Brody, Emerson, Jaxson and Max; great grandchildren, Shawn, Kiera, Conner and Brantley; and brother, Ronald (Betty) Howard. He was preceded in death by his parents, and parents-in-law, Hersey and Virginia Welch. Private burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg. Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Walbridge, Ohio (419-666-3121). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation 230 E.
