Thomas A. “Tom” Holzscheiter, 74, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Ebeid Hospice Center at Flower Hospital surrounded by family. He was born on October 3, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio to Justin and Genevieve Holzscheiter. Tom graduated from Whitmer High School in 1968. He met the love of his life, Bonnie at a football game when they were just 13 years old. They were married in February 1971 and have spent over 50 years together.
Tom began his career in the grocery business at the age of 16 with Seaway Foodtown. He started as a carryout and held many positions throughout the years until finally becoming a store manager. He remained with the company until they closed in 2003. In 2004, he was employed with Kroger where he worked until his retirement in 2014.
Tom’s love for the outdoors started as a child as he spent time with his family at their cottage on Clark Lake. Throughout his life he enjoyed boating, camping, snowmobiling, and riding motorcycles. He also shared an interest for Corvettes with his wife, with the most special being the car they won at the Bloomington car show in 1995.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Bonnie, son David Holzscheiter (Ami), granddaughter Jenna Holzscheiter (Fiance Travis Cox), and brother Dan Holzscheiter (Jean). He was preceded in death by his parents Justin and Genevieve Holzscheiter, and cousin Susan Earl.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Sujkowski- Walker Funeral Home in Rossford. There will be no visitation or funeral service.
