Thomas Haydock V

February 7, 1949 — June 21, 2025

With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Thomas William Haydock V, who left this world on June 21, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born on February 7, 1949, Tom lived a life defined by devotion—to his family, his community, and his passions. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Heather Haydock, and is survived by his cherished wife of 51 years, Barb Haydock; his sons Tommy and Todd; his grandsons Tyler (Riss), Tris, Tyson, and Tanner; and his great-granddaughter, Valyrie Haydock, who brought him immense joy.

Tom proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He worked for the City of Toledo with dedication and integrity for 37 years in a variety of roles, retiring in 2007. A lifelong learner, he studied music at The Ohio State University and later earned an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo. His professional and academic pursuits were only outmatched by his passions.

An avid woodworker, Tom created stunning pieces of furniture and remodeled more rooms than one could count. In the fall, Saturdays were sacred—spent cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes with his family. He proudly embraced his Polish heritage and had a deep love of genealogy, tracing his roots and preserving stories for future generations.

But Tom’s greatest passion was baseball. Whether he was coaching, watching the Cleveland Guardians (the “Tribe” in his heart), or cheering from the stands as his sons and grandsons played, baseball was woven into the fabric of his life.

More than anything, Tom treasured his family. He built not only a home, but a legacy of tradition—gatherings that filled calendars and hearts, moments that became milestones. His presence was a cornerstone in the lives of those he loved, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.

Tom's impact lives on in the values he instilled, the laughter he shared, and the traditions he created. His love will continue to echo through generations.

To honor his life, a funeral will be held on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 11am. There will be a Memorial Luncheon immediately following the service at the church.
