Thomas Payne Greene, Jr., 82, of Monroe, MI and formerly of Oak Harbor, OH died Sunday, August 26, 2007 in the Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe, MI. Thomas was born on October 2, 1924 in Monticello, KY to Thomas Payne and Mamie Stringer Greene. On October 22, 1945 in Port Clinton, OH he married Idamae Reese and she preceded him in death on January 13, 2006. Thomas is retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Local #33. Thomas served as a paratrooper in Japan in the U.S. Army in Japan during World War II. He later joined the U.S. Air Force as an Aeronautical Technician for many years. He then worked full time in the Air Guard based out of Toledo, OH. He very much enjoyed flying and flew his own plane. Thomas taught Tom Palmer and many others to fly and also flew many skydivers in the area. He was past owner of Oaks Caf
