Thomas O. Draheim

Thomas O. Draheim, 72, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born February 23, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Alojzy "Ollie" and Dolores Draheim.

Tom spent 25 years as a Salesman for Yark Automotive, where his natural ability to connect with people and make a deal made him a successful and respected salesman. He received multiple awards for being a top salesman throughout his career. True to his nature, Tom was always haggling, negotiating, and looking for the next great deal. Whether he was at work or simply out shopping, you could count on Tom to see if he could get a better price.

Tom had a lifelong passion for cars and owned several classic cars throughout the years, including his beloved 1970 Chevelle. He took great satisfaction in caring for his home and yard and always seemed to have a home improvement project underway. He was meticulous and organized in everything he did.

A talented and thoughtful man, Tom especially enjoyed making handmade gifts for his family. He also enjoyed gathering around the table for Scrabble, Clue, and various card games. Tom was very competitive and never let his children or grandchildren win unless they truly earned it. Puzzles were another favorite pastime. He had a special place in his heart for dogs and cherished his canine companions over the years, especially his current companion, Daisy.

Tom was a devoted sports fan. Sundays were meant for watching the Cleveland Browns, and he proudly cheered on the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also had a particular fondness for Survivor and watched every season, faithfully following the challenges, alliances, and contestants.

Above all, Tom treasured his family. He was happiest when surrounded by the people closest to him and took great comfort in the time they spent together.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Mazur) Draheim; children, Todd R. (Maureen) Draheim, Chad M. Draheim, and Jennifer (Gavin) Derryberry; sister, Kathleen (Tim) Donovan; grandchildren, Hadley Draheim, Gage and Jax Derryberry, Connor, Casey, Kiera and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may visit Friday, September 25, 2026, from 3-8 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. The service will be Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10 am at Springfield Township Cemetery.
