Thomas L. Cashen, Jr., 78, of Martin, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Tom was born in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Thomas L. and Hazel D. (Walker) Cashen, Sr., on June 26, 1946. He was a 1964 graduate of Genoa High School. Tom married Mary Lynn Traver on January 2, 1965, and they were together for 28 years.
Tom spent his entire working career in the metal industry, starting with Kaiser Aluminum Pre-Finish Metals, Acklin Stamping and finally with Lear, which later became IAC, from which he retired in 2007.
Tom was a loving father and grandfather who worked extremely hard and cherished spending time with his family and friends. They will always remember him for his smile, big laugh, and his ability to come up with a quick joke as well as his knowledge of all things trivia! He was an avid football fan of THE Ohio State Buckeyes, loved watching “Price is Right”, old Westerns, and working in his workshop. He was an avid hunter and was pleased he brought down a Buckeye Big Buck.
Tom is survived by his children, Christine (John) Fisher, Thomas (Heather) Cashen and Susannah (Kenneth) Reno. He was the best grandpa to, John (Jennifer) Fisher, Daniel (Alexis) Fisher, Katherine (Nathan) TenEyck, Leah Reno, Olivia Reno, Kenneth (Josephine) Reno, Jackson Fisher, Sophia Cashen, Lindsey Cashen and great grandchildren, Nathan, Wyatt, Athena, Charlotte, and Sonny, and sister, Beth D. (Chris) King. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carolyn Johnson and cousin Richard Morris.
Visitation for Tom will be held from 4-8 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2025, with a time of sharing beginning at 7:30 PM, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, Ohio.
