Thomas H. Carter

Thomas “Tom” Carter age 49, of Toledo Ohio.  Son to Gerald and Joyce (Jacoby) Carter, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday March 30,2022 at The University of Michigan Hospital, surrounded by his family entering the loving arms of the Lord.

Tom attended Lark Lane school until the age of 21 and then joined the workforce team at Lott Industries, Tom is also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Growing up Tom enjoyed camping with his family, playing BINGO and music of all types, he would be at the bus waiting to help the band set up and the last to leave helping the band take down. Tom enjoyed eating out and every Sunday, you could find him hanging out at Dorr Street Café with his favorite staff who treated him like family, even celebrating his birthday with him!  Tom was one of a kind and those who understood him knew how to win him over by buying him a new bag to carry.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Enhancing Abilities, his favorite caregiver Marie who was there when he needed her, and Wendi for the patience and tender loving care they provided even during the challenging times. As well as Sunshine Children’s Home for all they have done over the years. We will forever be grateful for all your help.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Gerald and Joyce Carter; sisters, Tammy (Tom) Pollard, Jennifer Carter, brother John Carter, Uncle Richard and Aunt Judy Dorner. Countless nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Alice Carter and Julius and Luella Jacoby

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Monday April 04, 2022, from 3:00-7:00 pm. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Homes, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held Tuesday April 05,2022 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Enhancing Abilities, Sunshine Children’s Home or Trinity Lutheran Church.
