Thomas James Carr, Sr., 66, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic. He was born on November 15, 1959, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to the late Albert and Therese Carr.
Tom was a graduate of Port Clinton High School and worked various jobs in the area throughout his life. In 1978, he married Donna DeFriece, and together they had three children, Thomas Carr, Jr., Jason Carr, and Jennifer Phillips (Travis Smith). Although Tom and Donna later divorced, they remained friends throughout the years.
Tom's greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren, Emma Phillips and Ava Carr, whom he loved very much, and his honorary grandson, Jace.

He especially enjoyed spinning his vinyl records and listening to classic rock, including Guns N' Roses and other favorites. Tom had a unique personality and a genuine appreciation for the things that brought him happiness.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Tom is survived by his brother, Tedd Carr, and sister, Cathy Carr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Therese Carr, and his brother, Tim Carr.
