Thomas “Carl” Smith, age 85, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at his home. He was born on August 12, 1936 to Freelian and Pearl (Neal) Smith in Williamson, West Virginia. Carl retired in 2007 as VP of Sales at Vita Plate Battery. He was a member of the Port Clinton Elks Lodge #1718, where he was a past Exalted Ruler, member of the Port Clinton Eagles, Port Clinton Moose Lodge, and St. John’s Lutheran Church. Carl enjoyed music, golfing, bowling, traveling, boating and belting out songs while being the Karaoke King known as “Uncle Carl.” He is survived by his children, Debbie Smith, Amy (Mark Criley) Smith, Mark (Janette Chaffins) Smith, Matt (Stacy) Moore; step-children, Frank (Mark Hopke) Arico, Alan (Sue) Arico , Gary (Carmen) Arico, Dale Elmes; 11 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews and special friend, Flo Cox. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Suzi Smith; brothers, Charles Smith, William Smith, Bernard Smith; sisters, Ruth Messner, Margaret Justice, Roberta Harris; 1 granddaughter, Jane Arico The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers, especially Heartland Hospice and the amazing, Twyla Skaggs. Per the family’s wishes all formal services will be private and interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, Ohio An informal gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Lakeview Park in Port Clinton, please go to the canopy located at the corner of Second Street and Cedar Street
