Thomas Edward Avery Sr.

Thomas E. Avery Sr., 68, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at his home in Elmore, Ohio. He was born on February 4, 1952 to Jack & Norma (Compton) Avery and grew up in Bono. Thomas proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. After Vietnam, he married Vickie Phillips and she preceded him in death in 2012. Thomas worked as a Boilermaker for more than 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Stephanie (Tim) Helle and Thomas (Jennifer) Avery Jr.; grandchildren, Jacob & Madison Helle and Aila Avery; and siblings, Dan, Mike, Norma, Pam and Mary. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie; brothers, Jack and Glenn; and his parents. The family would like to thank Elara Hospice and Sandy Hicks for helping out during the transition of his final days. Per Thomas’ request, direct cremation has taken place under the care of Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West Street, Genoa, Ohio.
