Thomas “Tom” Joseph Antkowiak, age 86, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. His contagious smile, kind heart, and sassy sense of humor will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Tom was born April 27, 1938 to John, Sr. and Rose (Kwiatkowski) Antkowiak. Tom attended St. Anthony grade school and was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Tom grew up on Blum St. where he met his lifelong sweetheart, Susan. They married in 1962 and raised 3 daughters. Tom was a production supervisor at Toledo Stamping and Art Iron.
Tom was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His greatest joy was spending time with family and teaching his grandchildren the art of fishing. Tom never failed to attend his grandchildren’s events and was always there to provide guidance and support to his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his three daughters, Julie (Alan) Harberson, Tracy (John) Potts, Tammy (Scott) Michalak; grandchildren, Nicholas Harberson (Louie), Rachael (Brandi) Fasnaugh, Mitchell Harberson, Jacob Potts, Samuel (Cait) Potts, Olivia Potts (Alex), Nathan Michalak; and dear friend, Paul Valiquette. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Sue; his parents and brothers John Jr. and Albert.
Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, August 26, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee, OH.
