Thomas W. Aberl

Thomas "Tom" W. Aberl, 75, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 31, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, to William "Bill" and Helen (Cutcher) Aberl.

Tom married Vergie Mae Aberl on December 12, 1974, who preceded him in death on June 8, 2014. Tom briefly worked at Libbey Glass and had a notable career as a Rodeo Bronc Rider. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, and cherished his cats and dogs.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vergie, and his son William "Bill" Dunbar. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ferguson; son, Shawn P. Aberl; stepdaughter, Lois (Bill) Manion; sister-in-law, Gale (John) Birchem; grandchildren, Kara Lynn, Sara Marie, Elizabeth Carey, Shawn Patrick II, Payten Reese, Nicholas Sebastian, Andromeda Nicole, Angelique Monet, and Josette Dupre; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Bruce) Aberl-Miller; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Tom will be remembered fondly for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and his kindness to all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon, Ohio on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM with a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
