Thomas Dean Abel

Thomas Dean Abel, 72, of Port Clinton, passed peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2019. He was born in Port Clinton on December 24, 1947 to the late Charles and Lucile Abel. He graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1964. On August 7, 1971 he married Lilalee M. O’Lynn and she survives. Tom served proudly as a Sergeant in the US Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the 173rd Air Borne Special Forces. Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 47 years: Lilalee Abel, children: Thomas C. (India) Abel of Loxahatchee, FL, Dawn L. Abel-Hofmeier of Republic, OH and Brandi J. (Daryl Smith) Abel; eight grandchildren; two great grandsons; sister: Kathy Stephens of Port Clinton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Richard and Terry Abel and sister: Trudy Abel. Friends may call 5:00 pm – 7:00pm, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton, OH.
