Theresa Susan Kujawa

May 10, 1959 — Jul 7, 2026

Theresa Susan (Strawinski) Kujawa, 67, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Theresa was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 10, 1959 to Chester and Waverly (Kille) Strawinski, the fourth of their six children. She graduated from Whitmer High School in 1977, and earned an Associates Degree in Business from the University of Toledo while raising her children.

Theresa began her career as a Professional Secretary in the International Sales division of Champion Sparkplug Company and later at Northern Ohio Food Brokers Company, before beginning her 39 year career at Promedica Health System. While at Promedica, she worked in the Medical Staff Office, Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center, then in the Staff Development Department, Grants and Research department before finishing her career as an Administrative Assistant in the Flower Hospital Lab.

On May 30, 1981 she married her next door neighbor, love of her life, and best friend, David Kujawa. They were blessed to share 45 married years together traveling, attending UT basketball games, and raising their three beloved children.

Theresa had a flair for anything creative: sewing, crocheting, photography, especially stamping and scrapbooking. To know Theresa was to be loved by her, and if you received one of her handmade cards you knew you were loved deeper still. She also enjoyed gardening, and was always in search of the perfect pie crust recipe for her apple pie.

Though nothing was more important to Theresa than her family and her faith. She loved being a mother and Nana more than anything else. Her family will always hold her close in their hearts, and remember her for her incredible thoughtfulness, patience, infectious smile, and genuine kindness. She lived her life guided by love and generosity, ensuring everyone she met felt cared for and worthy of love. She was an angel walking among us who was finally called home.

Theresa is survived by her husband, David; her children, Chris (Lauren) Kujawa, Julianne (Tim) Urbancic, and Natalie (Hunter) Fritz; and grandson, Beau Urbancic. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Joan Kujawa and stepmother Carol Strawinski; brother Chester (Robyn) Strawinski and sisters Brenda Ceparski, Sandra Schodowski, Rachelle (David) Johnston, Lorrie (Aaron) Kajtaniak; brothers-in-law Michael Kujawa, Daniel (Ann) Kujawa, Richard (Melinda) Kujawa, and sisters-in-law, Konnie (Bill) Dunphy, and Kelli (Charlie) Harshman; stepsisters, Amy Netter and Lisa (Joel) Over, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Joseph Kujawa; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Schodowski and Frank Ceparski.

Theresa's family would like to thank the staff of Flower Hospital's seventh floor nursing unit, especially her nurse Donna, for providing her with excellent care. They also wish to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg for the kindness and empathy shown to Theresa and the family, and for the outstanding, compassionate care they provided to her in her final days. A special thank you is given to Msgr. Michael Billion for administering the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick to Theresa.
