Theresa Ello

Theresa Mary Ello, 95, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on June 12, 2025. Devoted wife of Robert S. Ello and loving mother of Judi Uhrman, Susan Ello, Rosemary (Alan) Mikesell, Patricia (Jess Russell) Ello and Robert W. Ello.

Theresa was born October 14, 1929 in Turzovka, Czechoslovakia to Tomas and Rozalie (Sekerka) Opial. Her family emigrated to the United States in 1937 and settled in Toledo, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert and her siblings, Anna Stolarik of Zilina Slovakia and brothers John of Toledo and Mike of Rossford.

Theresa graduated from Central Catholic High School, class of 1948. She was employed at Ohio Bell until she married. She returned to work as a PBX operator at St. Charles Hospital when her children were in high school.

She was proud of her Slovak heritage. She enjoyed shopping and dressing fashionably. Theresa was dedicated to her beloved husband Bob and her children, always putting their needs above her own. She was known lovingly as “Mother Theresa,” as no one could enter her kitchen without being fed.

The love affair between Theresa and Bob began when they were young neighbors. The little Slovak girl, grew up, persistently chased and finally caught the love of her life.

Theresa is survived by her five children and granddaughters Lauren Uhrman and Melissa Ello. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in the United States, Slovakia and Czechia. Her smiling presence will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 19, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Rd., Rossford, OH. Mass of Christian Burial begins at 11:00 a.m., followed by internment at Fort Meigs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to a charity of the donors choice.
