Theodore J. Smith

Theodore J. Smith, 84, of New Port Richey, FL, died February 20, 2016 at the Marliere Hospice Care Center, New Port Richey, FL. Ted (Theodore) was born October 20, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio to Theodore and Crescentia Smith. On September 1, 1956, he married Madonna Mueck and they resided in Point Place (Toledo, Ohio) for 35 years until moving to Genoa, Ohio then Oak Harbor, Ohio where Madonna preceded him in death August 19, 2005. Ted served as a Boatswain mate 2nd. Class in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War (1951-1955) on the destroyer USS Power DD-839. Ted worked for the N.W. Ohio Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 50 for 30+ years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and the North Toledo Arrow Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading and camping, taking his family on vacations to every province in Canada, also traveling the Midwest and Northeast United States. Ted is survived by his children, David K. Smith (Holly), Toledo, Ohio, Brian T. Smith (Jennifer Cook), Archbold, Ohio, Kristal Stone (RicCutlip), New Port Richey, FL, Eric Smith (Gail), Toledo, Ohio, 9 Grandchildren, Joshua, Hope, Heather, Jade, Kasey, Jared, Jacob, Erica and Alex, 4 Great Grandchildren, Genesys, Crosby, Leon and Eloise, Brother, William Smith (Bobbi) Fernandina Beach, FL, Sisters, Mary Lou Rosinski (Jim), Kathy Miner (Rich) Grayling, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife Madonna and sister, Carol Peters. Visitation for Ted will be Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor with funeral services conducted at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor with military graveside rites. Contributions may be made in celebration of Ted’s Life to any Lucas or Ottawa County Ohio Public Library or any Pasco County Florida Public Library.
