Theodore Seigfried Mathiesen, Jr.

Theodore Ted S. Mathiesen, Jr., 89, of Maumee passed away January 29, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Born January 28, 1923, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Theodore and Ethel Mathiesen, Sr. Married to Glenna Burnside on August 29, 1946, he was a loving husband and father. He was a 1940 graduate of Palatine Township High School where he enjoyed the marching band. He served in the US Navy during WW II in the Pacific Theater on the USS Drew APA-162. He enjoyed listening to the big bands and dancing the jitter bug. For many years Ted was the bowling league instructor at the Timbers Bowling Alley, and also active with the Boy Scout Troop 32 in Maumee. Theodore is survived by his wife, Glenna, sons, Theodore S. Laura III, Douglas M Connie, and Glenn D, daughters, Joy E. Brad McDaniel, and Laura K. Rick Hamman, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation for Theodore will be Wednesday February 1, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee, Ohio 501 Conant St. Maumee, Ohio 43537. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on February 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
