Thelma Marie Mathies

Thelma M. Mathies, age 93, of Venice Florida, formerly of Mayfair Blvd. and Bampton Court, Toledo, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the Sunset Lake Health and Rehabilitation Care Center in Venice, Florida. She was born August 1, 1917 in Maplewood, Ohio to John and Clementine Starret Stewart. Thelma was employed by A P Warehouse in the office for 22 years as an office worker until 1970 when she moved to Florida. She also worked 12 years in the same capacity for the Sarasota Herald Tribune, retiring in 1983. Thelma was also a member of the Maumee Eastern Star # 196. In addition to her parents and brothers, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles on January 25, 1992 and an infant daughter, Betty Lou. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Patricia Marvin Franck of Roanoke, VA; son, William Bonnie Mathies of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Rick Davis, Becky Holden, Pamela Coleman, William and Charles Mathies; 8 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Family and friends may visit Friday, February 4, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
