Thelma May Griffith

Thelma May Griffith, 83, of Springfield Township, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her family’s home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on December 24, 1932 in Pine Knot, Kentucky to James Russell and Sarah Ellen (Rutherford) Manus. Thelma married Teddy C. Griffith on August 4, 1951 and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1996. Thelma attended Victory Missionary Baptist Church and she was employed for over 22 years with Acklin Stamping. She enjoyed ceramics and sewing as well as canning and gardening. She loved to spend time with her family and looked forward to the annual family reunions. She is survived by her loving children, Bob (Karen) Griffith of Swanton, OH, Dennis (Cheryl) Griffith of Swanton, OH, Kenny Griffith of Williamsburg, KY, Carolyn (Edward) Cole of Lambertville, MI and Billy Ray Griffith of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Bob Jr., Edie, Carrie, Chris (Courtney), Michelle (Steven), Jeffery (Angela), Edwin, Justin (Brooke) and Andy; step grandchildren, Angela, Douglas and Brittany; 16 great grandchildren; 5 great step grandchildren; siblings, Hattie (Oral) Lambdin of Washington, KY, L.B. (Helen) Manus of Clyde, OH and Edwin Lee Manus of Oxford, GA and special buddy, Hunter. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and granddaughter, Brandy Griffith. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. in Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879). Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Dan Lawson. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
