Thelma Elizabeth Bryant

Thelma Elizabeth Bryant, age 79, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Waterford at Levis Commons surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 11, 1934 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Fred and Ledora (Fredrick) Thompson. Thelma married her husband Willard Bryant on June 11, 1955 and were married 56 years, and he preceded her in death. Thelma was a cook at Timbers Bowling Alley for 17 years until her retirement. She also was active in the Maumee Elks as a past president and was honored as Elk Lady of the Year. Thelma volunteered countless hours as a member of the Elks. She enjoyed line dancing, shopping, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Dorene (Dave) Adams; sons, Gary (Sue) Bryant and Douglas Scott (Marlee) Bryant; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Ethel J. Lambert, Fred Thompson, Jim (Mary Ann) Thompson, and Carol (Jim) Zdybek; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 6, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio 43537. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
