Terry D Speakman of Port Clinton passed away October 31st, 2024 at Firelands Hospital in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born June 29th, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John and Wanda Speakman. Terry lived most of his life in Circleville, Ohio and was very active in the Honor Guard with Amvets.
Terry served his country in the 101st Airborne Division from 1968 – 1969 and received a bronze star and a purple heart for his service.
Surviving are his spouse, Judy (Smallwood) Speakman, and son Terry Speakman II, daughter-in-law Colleen Speakman, grandchildren Eric Speakman, Zachary Speakman and Imilie Speakman. Siblings, Teresa Lawhead, Tony Speakman (Kay), Chris Speakman (Melissa), Diana Parfitt (Edward), and Lori Speakman. Great-grandchildren Lucas Taylor, Brylynn Speakman, Rylee Speakman, Isabella Budiasa.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by siblings Hazel Ray, Scott Speakman (Melody), James Speakman (Yvonne), and Barbara Rhoades (Buck).
A gravesite ceremony will be at Riverview Cemetery November 5th at 11:30am at 1023 W 3rd St in Port Clinton. Following will be a luncheon at McCarthy’s Pub on Madison St.
Memorial contributions may be made to Amvets at 818 Tarltan Rd Circleville, OH 43113 in lieu of flowers.
