Terry Slaughterbeck

Sep 18, 1960 — Oct 2, 2026

Terry Pratt Slaughterbeck, 66, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at University of Toledo Medical Center on October 2, 2026. He battled a rare cancer for the last two years with the help of The University of Michigan Medical Center.

Terry was born on September 18, 1960, in Sylvania to Anna Mae and Walter Scott Slaughterbeck. He grew up in Sylvania on the Stranahan Estate and attended school at Northview High School.

Terry met that one special person who would become his partner in life, Peggy Krueger, in 1994. Their initial friendship turned to deep and abiding love, and together, they raised a daughter, Tiffany (Jordan) Robinson. Terry became the proud "Papa" of McCoy Robert and Sutton Elizabeth Robinson. Terry loved to spend his free time with his best buddy, McCoy, either going for rides on the golf cart, spraying "Spidey" webs, or racing Hot Wheels cars. He was equally proud of his oldest grandson, Riley Dreps, cheering him on in his many activities..

Terry and Peggy loved to travel, and often accompanied Tiffany, Jordan, and the grandkids on special trips to Disney World and Disneyland. They also took multiple cruises together over the years, including St. Thomas, St, Maarten, and the Bahamas.

Terry worked at Crestline Paving for 15 years as a truck driver. He was well known by trucking crews all over the region for his skill and expertise. Anyone who knows Terry knows that if he wasn't with family or working, he was out washing and waxing not only his work truck, but his personal vehicles as well. Never one to mince words, he used a forthright approach and his sense of humor in helping younger drivers and in dealing with the various complexities and problems that sometimes occurred in the work world.

Terry loved auto racing and worked for many years as part of the pit crew for Noonan Racing. He was a fan of Dale Earnhardt and once met the famed racer at his dealership in Newton, North Carolina. For his fortieth birthday, he drove the Richard Petty Driving Experience in Richmond, Virginia. Terry was a huge fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions, enjoying a game on television or at Ford stadium. He adored his dog, Zero, and adopted stray cats, raccoons, or just about any creature he thought he could help.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his siblings, Judy, Walter "Bud", Randy, and Duane, his brother-in-law, Bob, sister-in-law, Heidi, and his nephew, Sean. He is survived by the love of his life, Peggy, their daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Jordan and their children, McCoy and Sutton, his grandson, Riley, his sisters, Marsha (Dan) and Lynn, and his brother, Ron (Cindy), sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Linda, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank Theresa Konwinski for all of her continuous support. The people who Terry befriended are too numerous to count.
