Terry Allen Harris passed away November 9, 2022, at the age of 71 surrounded by his family. He was born March 16, 1951, in Defiance, Ohio. Terry graduated from Tinora High School in 1969. He later earned an associate degree at Purdue University.
Terry was a good guy. He loved helping and making people laugh. A faithful member of Zoar Lutheran Church, he was honored to have served as a long-term usher and as past President of his Church Council.
He began his career at Local 50 Plumbers & Pipefitters where he earned his journeyman card and later taught in the apprenticeship program. He grew to be a service manager, then project sales manager in the HVAC industry.
Terry loved mowing his lawn, golfing, bowling, hunting, and fishing. He was a life-long Tigers fan and devoted Buckeyes fan. Personal highlights were his hole-in-one, 300 bowling game, 10-point buck and shaking the hands of Ernie Harwell and Al Kaline.
But most of all, Terry loved his family. He built a home and family in Perrysburg with his wife, Denise, to whom he was married for 44 years “… only seemed like 100”. He was coach, fishing buddy, and great dad to daughter, Abby, whom he taught early on to “keep her eye on the ball”. The greatest joy of his final years was grandson Harrison - often called “Harry,” just like his Papa.
We can’t forget his love of pie (thank you, S-I-L, Chris Seferian), and golfing, enjoying the occasional cigar with his son-in-law, Jerimee Graham, who even laughed at his jokes … sometimes.
Terry’s life was interrupted by Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) which robbed him of his personality, but not his spirit. Terry is survived by his wife, daughter (son-in-law), grandson, brothers James, Jr. (Cathy), Rick (Chris), and Corey (Nicole), and special aunts. He is proceeded in death by his parents James, Sr. and Joann and his sister, Michelle.
Family and friends will be received at the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 3-5pm with memorial services immediately following.
Terry’s family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care and support of him and his family. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Zoar Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be shared at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
