Terry Gallagher

Terry Gallagher, 75, died unexpectedly on July 11, 2015 in Detroit, Michigan.  He was born February 7, 1940 in Toledo to the late Francis J. and Dorothy (Shadle) Gallagher.  Terry attended Rosary Cathedral Grade School, was the President of the first graduating class of St. Francis de Sales High School, graduated from John Carroll University, served as an officer in the U. S. Army in Germany, and married Nancy Bailey.  He was then active in the Old West End Association, Toledo real estate efforts including strong support of downtown Toledo redevelopment, Rosary Cathedral Parish and various Lake Erie sailing events.  In retirement, Terry lived in Florida where he could continue his lifelong passion for sailing.  A year ago, he moved to Detroit to work with his son Tim. He is survived by sons, Patrick (Christine) and Tim (Jennifer); daughters, Elizabeth (Kevin) Higgins and Anne (Dan) Horan; siblings, F. Anthony of Toledo, Loretta Sis Wenger of Detroit, Charles (Diane) of Denver, CO, Michael of Cleveland and Kevin (Julie) of Atlanta; grandchildren, Jack, William and T.J. Gallagher, Aidan, Kathleen, Liam and Bridget Horan, Caitlin and Lauren Higgins, Harry and Peter Gallagher. His wake will be in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 2-8 p.m., with a vigil service at 7:45 p.m.  Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday, July 16, 2015 with prayers at 9:45 a.m. and proceed to Gesu Catholic Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd., Toledo for 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass.  His committal will be in Calvary Cemetery, Toledo.
