Terry Martin Belcik

April 3, 1940 — June 28, 2021

Terry (Cheeks) was called home unexpectedly on Monday June 28th. Terry graduated from Clay High School and finished his education by earning an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Monroe Community College. Terry worked as a computer analyst and programmer for Owens-Illinois, Sheller Globe, Champion Spark Plug and United Technologies. During his life, Terry was an avid softball player, bowler and enjoyed coaching his kids in various sports. Terry played at the Lucas County Recreation Center for AA Boos Construction, Colonial Builders, Longhorn Saloon and Bob Schmidt Chevrolet. He bowled in leagues at Toledo Sports Center, Miracle Lanes and Eastern Lanes. One of his favorite events was the Nine-is-Fine tournament at Miracle Lanes in which, he would organize his own squad to bowl in the tournament. He coached baseball, football, girls basketball and girls softball. Two of his baseball teams made it to the World Series in their age groups. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids participate in their athletic events and other activities. Terry will be remembered for being a fun-loving family man, that enjoyed music, competitive sports, especially The Ohio State University Buckeye Football and NASCAR, and was quoted in his high school yearbook as saying “Life without sports is not life at all”. Terry enjoyed traveling to Montana and Florida to visit his kids and their families and was very proud of all of his kids. Terry is survived by his sons David (Tracy) Belcik and Keith (Trina) Belcik, his daughters Toni (Rob) Walker, Shannon (Steve) Schoen, and Brooke Tanner, his siblings Jane Sheehan, Patricia Snow, and Michael (Linda) Belcik, his 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Terry was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Jean Belcik, his wife Barbara Belcik and her parents Lee and Lucille Weiser. Friends and family will be received at Walker Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon, Ohio from 3-7 PM on Monday, July 5th and 10-11 AM, Tuesday, July 6th with a service to follow and burial at Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wild Skies Raptor Center which provides native bird rescue, rehabilitation, and release, as well as, providing environmental/wildlife conservation and public education in Missoula, Montana.
