Terrence J. Stewart

Terrence J. “Tudor” Stewart, age 65, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his home in Sylvania, OH surrounded by his family. Terry was born June 14, 1955 in Toledo to William and Mary Alice Stewart. He attended Little Flower School, where his nephews, children, and grandchildren also attended. Terry was a 1973 graduate of St. John’s Jesuit High School and caddied at Inverness throughout his high school summers. After earning his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo, Terry began a thirty-four year career with the Toledo Police Department, retiring as Sergeant in 2011. He was past-President of the Toledo Police Command Officers Union. He enjoyed working off duty providing security at high school and University of Toledo football and basketball games. And also festivals, Honey Baked Ham Store, Bingo halls, and CYO field. Terry enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandkids. He coached CYO football for 20 years, and also basketball and baseball at Little Flower. He was a devoted fan of Central Catholic football where his son played and his wife and daughters were alumni. Terry also liked spending evenings with friends sharing drinks at Ventura’s and Amigo’s. His sense of humor will be missed. Terry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen (Katafias); daughters, Kerri (Chris) Herman and Kristin (Chris) Honisko; son, Tyler Stewart; grandchildren, who he was “Papa” to, Austin, Kayleigh, and Connor Honisko, Madisyn and Mason Herman, and Cameron Stewart; sister, Kathleen (Mike) Webber; and many nieces and nephews. Terry’s family wishes to express their appreciation for the care he received through Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially from nurse Katie and aide, Jessica. Visitation will be Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 2-8:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin on Monday, March 22, 2021 with prayers at 10:15 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr Street, Toledo, OH, with interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed at visitation and all services.
