Terrence Edward Lehaney, 72, of Holland, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2015 with his family at his side. Terry was born May 31, 1942 in Toledo to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Almester) Lehaney. He graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1960 and earned his bachelors degree in civil engineering from the University of Toledo in 1966. Terry began his career with the City of Toledo Department of Water while a college student in 1963. He was hired into a permanent Associate Engineering position and retired 44 years later as a Senior Professional Engineer. He earned a Class II Water and Wastewater Certificate in 1974 and was a member of the Professional Waterworks Association. Terry loved watching and feeding the birds. He also enjoyed the beach, golf and bowling. Surviving are his wife, Michelle Shanteau; children, Andrea (Thomas) Geer, Erin Lehaney, Michal (Todd Huss) Murphy, Glenn (Caroline) Humberston and Greg (Abigail) Humberston; grandchildren, Samantha Humberston, Kayleen and Thomas Geer; sister, Marilyn Stone; aunt, Shirley Almester; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is Sunday from 1-7 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2015. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Toledo Zoo.
