T. Dale Brandt

Theron Dale Brandt, 87, of Williston, Ohio, died Wednesday afternoon, September 3, 2014, at University of Toledo Medical College. He was born June 9, 1927, in Oregon, Ohio, to Herman and Lydia (Schmidlin) Brandt. Dale is survived by his wife, Edna J. (Holman) Brandt, whom he married on February 17, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio. For 35 years Dale worked for the former Standard Oil (now BP) and retired in 1989. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII, where he served at Bikini Atoll, site of the first atomic bomb test in the Pacific. He was a member of the Genoa American Legion Post, a past Master of the Genoa Masonic Lodge No. 433 and the Gertrude Chapter, and a lifetime and charter member of the Southside Sportsmans Club in Toledo. Dale also worked for several years as the zoning inspector for Allen Township. Dale is survived by his wife, Edna, and preceded in death by his parents, son, Dale Robert Brandt, and siblings, Herman Brandt and Arlene Ladosky. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 7, 2014, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2014, in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorials for Dale may be given to St. Marks Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Rd., Toledo, OH 43605.
