Sylvia Gentry, 80, was called home by the lord on April 28, 2018. Sylvia was born in rural Magoffin County, Kentucky on November 6, 1937. She was the daughter of Daniel Boone and Emma Frauline (Craft) Whitt. She was raised in a caring family of eleven siblings by loving parents. Sylvia married the love of her life, Robert Gentry, on December 21, 1954. Her children were blessed to have her as a stay at home mother while she raised her family in Maumee. Later, she earned her real estate license and sold real estate alongside her husband. Sylvia was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Maumee for over 50 years. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and hosting tea parties. Sylvia was known as the Cake Lady at her church. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Robert. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Myrna (Paul) Macke, Cindy Gentry, Rob (Michelle) Gentry; grandchildren, Sylvia Stambaugh and Jack Gentry, brother Paul (Emogene) Whitt, cherished nephew James (Vicki) Crace along with many other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4-8:30 pm on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Broadway, Maumee, Ohio 43537. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the church. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or the American Diabetes Association. Online condolences can be shared at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
