Sylvia Elisebeth Earl

Sylvia E. Earl, 89, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Countryside Manor Healthcare, Fremont, OH. She was born on August 26, 1937, in Harrisburg, PA, to David G.R. and Sylvia L. (Clelan) Henderson.

On December 29, 1989, she married William C. Earl, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2006. Sylvia worked as a hospital administrator at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor.

Sylvia enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. She loved gardening, reading, and sewing, and could often be found working on a puzzle. Music was also an important part of her life, particularly classical music. Above all, Sylvia cherished the time she spent with her granddaughters, which brought her great joy.

She is survived by her step-children, Beth Earl, Nancy (Scott) Thompson, and Bill (Machell) Earl; seven step-grandchildren, Justice, Julian, Quinn, Jessica, Jennifer, Haley, and Carson; and three step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and her half-sisters, Isabelle Miller and Elisebeth Felton.

Private memorial services will be conducted for Sylvia. Memorial contributions in her memory may be given to Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, www.friendsofottawanwr.org.
